Frequently Asked Questions

This section covers frequently asked questions about the time off audio plugins.

General

Do you offer free trials?

Yes! Head on over to the customer portal to get started. Once you have created an account, you can access the plugin installers. When you open the plugin for the first time, you can activate a trial license for 7 days. It is a fully functional version, so you can explore all the features and see how it can benefit you.

Do you offer refunds?

If the plugin you purchased is not doing it for you, you're entitled to a full refund within 14 days of your purchase.

Please get in touch via the support form to request a refund.

How many machines can I activate a license on?

You can activate any license on 3 machines with a single license. If you need to activate more than 3 machines, please purchase additional licenses.

If you need to transfer a license to another machine, please get in touch via the support form.

I have installed an updated version of a plugin, but want to go back to a previous one. How do I do that?

Go to the download URL for the plugin and change latest to the version you want to install (for example, 1.3.0):

  • dime [tt]: https://timeoff.audio/products/dime-tt/download?platform=mac&version=latest
  • dime [ms]: https://timeoff.audio/products/dime-ms/download?platform=mac&version=latest
  • dime [mb]: https://timeoff.audio/products/dime-mb/download?platform=mac&version=latest

Use platform=windows instead of platform=mac if you are on Windows. If you forgot which version you were on, check the changelog.

Plugin Hosting

Can I host my DAW's stock plugins in any of the time off audio plugins?

No. The stock plugins that are included in your DAW typically are not accessible to any other plugin host. This is not a limitation of the third party plugin host, but rather a limitation of the DAW itself.

Can I host AAX plugins in any of the time off audio plugins?

No. While our plugins come in the AAX format, they cannot host AAX plugins themselves. AAX is a proprietary format that is not compatible plugin hosts other than Avid's own (Pro Tools). This is a limitation set by Avid themselves, and not something that we can control as plugin developers.

Common Issues

The plugin window is blank

The plugin window is a web view from your operating system — WebKit on macOS, and Microsoft Edge WebView2 on Windows. If that web view is missing, outdated, or blocked, the window can appear blank even though the plugin is loaded.

  • Windows: Install or update the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. It is included with Windows 11 and with a current Edge install, but some Windows 10 machines do not have it.
  • macOS: Use macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, and keep the system up to date. The web view is part of the OS and does not update when you update Safari alone.

See also minimum requirements.

Visualizers are missing or frozen

Spectrum and waveform visualizers need a working GPU (hardware graphics). Audio is not affected. If visualizers are blank or fail to start, check that graphics acceleration is enabled for your DAW, try the Brutalist waveform style in Display settings (it is lighter on the GPU), or hide the visualizers and keep using the rest of the plugin.

The plugin can't scan for plugins on Windows (Plugin Finder Utility not found)

Our plugins rely on a small helper application called the Plugin Finder Utility to scan for third-party plugins. On Windows, older versions of our installers placed this helper inside the user profile of the account that ran the installer. If you installed the plugin from a different account than the one you use in your DAW (for example, an administrator account), the plugin won't be able to find it.

There are two ways to fix this:

  • Download the latest installer from the customer portal and run it again. Recent installers place the helper in a machine-wide location that works for all user accounts.
  • Alternatively, copy Plugin Finder Utility.exe from C:\Users\<installing account>\AppData\Roaming\time off audio\ to the same location in your own user profile: C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Roaming\time off audio\.
